Depending on weapon you use, and it's recoil, e.g Assault Rifle C-01r, the recoil can slow you down while moving. To such weapons like Pistol C-01p, Alien Pistol and Pistol CS-Pro, they have small recoil, so they can slow you down a bit, even when you're using single or dual pistols. Sniper Rifle has a high recoil, counts with the Rocket Launcher and the CS-BNG, they will slow you down even worse.

Not sure if that may work out good.

And also, I agree to MI6, but they should be slow. They can take more damage, though.

Depending on the gun they use it may kill you with one shot nor saying it happens a lot but it's possible. For example if you had heavy armor but no weapon and there's a weapon in your sight you'd probably won't make it to pick it up. At least give the player who has heavy armor a little more speed to hurry and pick up a weapon before you get killed. But it shouldn't outrun the lite armor still. But a little more speed should give the player time to pick up a weapon.

Ok, let's give some Heavy users a chance to have some advantages over the lite ones.

We can slide and all, but another thing I will say is that we can dive only by sprinting and jumping. Maybe roll when we hit the ground while diving? Kinda thinking this will be good for a pool or something ;-;
Oh and, Stamina and stuff. We need limited sprint time. They don't want to ruin the fun on the 'run from terminator' maps, Right? We can change limited stamina, and we can disable or enable sprinting and stamina.
How about that?... Wait, how about change mobility/speed of sprint?

I already have commented about the sprinting. Barrel roll seems a bit too much for a 2D tactical side scroll shooter game, mobility/speed of sprint, maybe that'll do.

Heavy Battlesuit gives you +50% stability but also gives you -35% movement speed, hence being 'Heavy'

For Heavy Battlesuit users should be like this:

Using a Heavy Battlesuit and sprinting, it only gives you +15% movement speed, thanks to +50% stability. You have the advantage of taking some damage, but you have a disadvantage of moving slow.

For Lite Battlesuit, it gives you -35% stability but also gives you +50% movement speed, because you have less stability. You have the advantage of avoiding bullets and outrunning enemies but you have a disadvantage of not capable of taking extra damage.

Lite Battlesuit (in sprinting) 50 + 15 = +65% additional movement speed
Heavy Battlesuit (in sprinting) 50 - 15 = -35% less movement speed

Including the mass caused by heavy weaponry like Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher and Plasma Gun, it gives you +50% mass, giving you a disadvantage of moving slow. Carrying all weapons gives you 255% mass, which is slowing your character down and causes overloading. Overloading your character will not move. Just like the game, The Last Stand: Union City.

Less weapons = 100% mass (Lite)
More weapons = 255% mass (Lite)

Less weapons = 135% mass (Heavy)
More weapons = 390% mass (Heavy)

The Barrel roll is kind of a 3D method I dont think it will work for 2.5.

There is already jetpacks and some other cool stuff, I don't think we'll ever need the barrel roll. Plazma Burst have no barrel rolls implemented in such series. So, I don't think that would be implemented.

But there should be some sort energy bar for when you sprint though.

We already have Energy bar. One more isn't necessary in my opinion.

tehswordninja wrote:Could have elaborated a bit more, but I think a sprint system would be nice myself.

However, I think current character movement speed would have to be lowered (imagine a Android SLC sprinting) to compensate for this.

Sprinting should also use up your energy bar imo.

LazyRain thats is what I mean.

We better have a sprint system in PB2.5. I would agree to MI6 for it and Ghost for the extra ideas.

Yup, that's right.

We need to give the other players (including us) a chance to get the weapons fast.

I'll tell you this when there is too many players there's not so many weapons around you but most of the time it's near other players.

A lot of posts on this topic are one sentence posts repeating something already said. Please, from here on out, put some effort into your posts. It honestly seems like this topic is just here to farm posts.

Sorry Teh.Just trying to get my ideas across a majority to see what many think. I really think this should be in 2.5 not saying it will but it should. It might make a big change.

Sorry man.

Anyway, I was thinking about the extra features for the Sprint System, not only it makes you run fast for about 50%, it makes you jump high for about 50% and a tendency for that if you press X, you will slide faster, avoiding the shots from your enemy.

But, you can still walljump, with the sprint on, you will have difficulty, because of faster speed. Perfect timing, you'll be moving faster like a ninja, time it wrong, you'll be squashed like a bug.

Not only that, you can also swim faster by exactly 50% speed, you can also avoid the railgun shots and the rockets.
