What year is the Plazma Burst series in?

Postby Hunter4408 » 30 October 2016, 02:50

The year Plazma Burst 1 and 2 are set in. I always wondered this. Has Eric even said the year?

If I took a wild guess, sometime in the 25-30th century. But I'm really looking for an answer.

Fairly certain around 2700. I recall some copy right or something having this date, don't remember much

Aren't the army and guns too primitive to be in the year 2700?

Around 28th century, I assume year 2714. I was really surprised that the wars from HALO including Battle of Earth was on 2525, Plazma Burst 2's year was actually after every wars that Halo have done about 189 years ago, well, John-117 (Master Chief) would've grown old and died already, among with Jameson Locke, Olympia Vale, Edward Buck, etc.

Sorry about that. Wrong number of the century I typed, thanks for correcting me, darkstar.

2714 isn't the 27th century, but the 28th century... Pb2 and Halo are different universes, so I doubt pb2 is after any Halo war.

With the technology they have in pb2 I would guess the time somewhere between the 22th and 24th century. If we look how fast our technology changed in the past century, I see everything from pb2 possible for the next two centuries.

Proxy says something about 27 centuries of Human Civilisation destroyed, so I suppose the action takes place in the 2700's. It is said that Technology evolves fast at the moment, but I'm almost certain this will no longer be the case by 2050 or 2060.

eh, not really.

If you think about it, swords are super primitive. Yet they were used right up to the 19th century. That's thousands of years.

I doubt basic ballistic weapons will ever truly be replaced, and considering the civil security is just a private security group, its not surprising that they still field basic ballistic weapons.

Also, just because they look like real world counter parts, that doesn't mean the internals have been massively updated or something.

This. Especially in a space-faring world, I'm sure technology of all degrees are being used whether it be the most basic stone tools to the most advanced and newest items.

With all these guns, cars, war bots, aliens, ships, explosives, etc., I think its just at 2407. (A little bit early, I guess?)

Well fir starters, I bet the the amount of people know that PB2 is set way into the future then the Hero gets sent into the past. I would say like the year 3000 to be honest, its a decent year for the future.

Eric plans to dive deeper into the lore with the new game. I can't go much into detail, however it should be really fun for everyone.

Yeah, that's one of the best plans Eric done there. Would agree.

I was always under the impression it was set in the 2700s. There was an easter egg on a PB site that strongly hinted at a date in the early 2700s, I think somewhere about 2709-2715.
