Proxy - Profile Pic Fanart

Postby Failureguy » 25 July 2016, 15:17

Hello, I'm back with another fanart (So soon) that I've done.

Here you go:

Finalized Artwork (I Hope):

Spoiler: Show More

Okay so along the way, before it was even finalized, I was so conflicted on how amazing this looks. Even without the colors, I still think this is better than the finalized art (I have no idea why, but it just is).

Sketch of Proxy:

Spoiler: Show More

Well, this is for my profile pic and I just wanted to share with you guys what I've created.
Hope you like it! c: ah yes, constructive feedbacks before i forget.

I like it, but could be better.
In-game Proxy looks happier. And in my opinion face in general looks rough a little.
But it's nice! I will definitely not be able to make better one.

Perhaps of saying it's "trash", perhaps give reasons why do you think its "trash" so he may improve it. Don't free-post, give constructive feedback if you do decide to post.

I just thought of this.
Why not do one for the Marine and Noir Lime?

I remember he had the wallpaper with battling MH and Noir Lime. But, yeah, what's next?

The fact it looks almost like male also strike me to thought when I was finalizing it, I couldn't understand why. Does it have to do with the face feature?

Could it be that I didn't add enough shadow or smoothen the edges that makes it look rather rough? Duly noted about that. Thanks for the feedback!

It's already in my plan list that I would do Marine and Noir Lime Profile pics. Hopefully I don't take too long, school's gonna drag me down and I may be afraid I have no time. Don't worry tho, I'll still be here.

I was expecting for that post to come up regarding the hair. I'm still training on drawing hair as it's a difficult thing to do (Not that hard but you get what I mean). What could be improved, the lighting of the hair or the size of the hair, because to be honest I actually enlarge the hair to mimic the character Proxy (Not wise of me). Glad you like the art tho.

Don't shoot me down for this, but it isn't very good. I'll tell you why:

1. Horrifically out of proportion
2. Weird amounts of detail in some areas and it's too simple in other areas
3. Sharp outlines and soft, water-colory outlines that don't mix well

However you did use a reasonable color palette.

What you can do about these issues:

1. Look at human skulls/faces and study structure
2. Practice using consistent detail
3. Practice with all types of brushes and all the tools you have available.

- - -

In short, you tried, but you didn't do well.

Nah not really, look below if you want to know what I mean.

Rather I am actually thankful for having such constructive feedback about the artwork. It's also about time that I receive some feedback about what I did wrong and providing advice about what I should do to resolve such problems. (Ahhh this brings me back to the old days when my artwork was the cringiest of them all.)

Yes, I tried, and it didn't work out. I'm continuously browsing through the net in search of improving myself to make it better, but it's actually just practice that makes me improve. I probably have to return back to drawing on the paper first before coming to digital.

Regarding about your 2nd issue, is it due to the face having little detail? Because that's how I feel where it went entirely wrong, but the hair too.

Thank you for giving a great feedback to me. It really means something to me that my artwork is analyzed seriously.
