I think there should be an alerts bar for when you get a new post in one of your threads... What about you guys?

Something similar does already exist.

By clicking "Subscribe topic" it should notify you about replies being posted on the subscribed topic.
Can be found below every each topic btw.

I think it would do more annoyance than it would do benefit. If a thread blows up, I'm pretty sure no one wants to see 100+ notifications on their navbar just to know that their thread has blown up.

First of all, the way that most of these "alert bars" work, is they only sound off on the first reply, and states that "there may be more replies after this". Besides, if there's an existing one, at least make a short-cut to it on this bar:

As Alica aforementioned, a similar system already exists.
However, this forum lacks a notification system of SOME sort, so it's not an entirely non-impacting idea.

Doubt many updates will be made though, sadly.
