It's a nice map. Different paths, that's good to see.

Background is ok. Would be better if it was all plain in my opion but it isn't much of a problem. If you like it then keep it yourself xd.

250 is too much health, try sticking below 200? Perhaps 150 or something.

very good map with nice bgs and desing
i will agree with Silent Aurora it will be better to put the hp of the players to 200 or 150

The background at the spawns was originally plainly basic. Sandwiched in between was the usurpation base background, but it looked incoherent so I changed it.

The HP is high for several reasons. As you can see, the map has high altitudes in certain areas and it can inflict serious fall damage. Furthermore there are powerful weapons such as the railgun and the sniper. These slots 4 have high pierce damage which can execute one-hit-kill if the HP is in between 150 - 170.

i assume you mean that the slot 4 weapons deal 150-170 damage "most commonly," but the damage potential spans a bit more than that

sniper rifle: 100-275
lite railgun: 80-220

i do like the fact that you made the hp rather high, as the sniper rifle's value on the battlefield decreases as the hp pool increases (every weapon has a "sweet spot" for hp pools; the sniper rifle's is 187.5)

even then, however, a team that decides not to reach the sniper rifle quickly and deny the opposing team's retrieval of their sniper rifle, is most likely a losing team

Krutz, correction, railgun = 20-220, tanking can leave barely any lost health, especially when arms are lost.

i have eric's game data, so my data is correct

it is not possible for a lite railgun to deal 79 damage or lower, nor is it possible for it to deal 221 damage or higher

You should raise the pusher off the ground 1 block so the player isn't affected by it until they jump.

The jagged BGs don't look good, especially when they're used as the border BG.

Make the players TDM skins instead of the alien colour variants. This is more of a preference but, it'll make it look nicer.

Maybe add some doors or something to make the enviroment seem more lively too.
Won't talk about balance cuz I'm lazy.

That is assuming both teams are filled with experienced players who know when to swap for the sniper rifle.

Also, even if the players decide to blindly fire with the sniper rifle, there are quite a number of covers and walls that cannot be penetrated, which minimizes its effectiveness. Not to mention the long reload time needed, which can also make other guns more useful than the sniper rifle.

Of course there are exceptions if the whole team decides to make it a game of sniping and try to hit each other from afar, say where the sniper rifles are located. On the ground however, the pistol and the rifle would be more useful because of their ability to reflect off walls within enclosed spaces.

A little off-topic but, is this strictly for level 3 upgrades and is the damage randomized (in between 80 - 220)?

guns do not have levels in multiplayer

most weapons have different stats in multiplayer than they do in singleplayer, but they can be compared to their level in singleplayer (for example, the multiplayer bloomy has stats resembling its stats as a level 2 singleplayer bloomy, i believe)

I'm not saying that the map is fully original, but your argument is equivalent to saying that all maps are stolen ideas because they contain: doors that open and close, red and blue teams with 130 HP, flareless lights, and teleporters that can be activated by pressing E.

The features are a given in the map editor so I see no reason why a good idea should not be adapted.

alexwang32 I'm still learning as well. I have some maps that are open sourced, you can take a look at them and copy certain structures if you wish.
