Introducing New Format:

Starting from Season 4, level editor league developing period and registration period had been changed to new format:

  1. The new format will introduce a RGB table system, which requires map developers to complete 1 red, 1 green and 1 blue squares:
    • Red will be focused on the destination, theme or playfield.
    • Green will be focused on gameplay.
    • Blue will be focused on additional elements.
  2. Meanwhile, we will have orange squares which is for special challenges to gain points.
    • One orange squares will grant you 7 extra point max (depends how you use them well).
    • You can either take none of the challenges, or take any of them if you wish.
    • Orange challenges are focused on limiting your freedom of map making, adding stress or even have limitations on specific zone to squeeze more creativity.
  3. Doing more than 1 red, green or blue won't grant you any extra points, but grants you extra safe just in case if one of the requirment fails.

  4. Failure to do either red, green of blue requirements will reduce your extra points to:
    • complete 2/3 of RGB will divide your total requirement points to 2/3 of total points given.
    • complete 1/3 of RGB will divide your total requirement points to 1/3 of total points given.
    • and so on.
  5. Instances: I picked A3(red), C3(green) and C4(blue) to fulfil the minimum requirements, meanwhile I think my map also fulfills E2(orange) so I decided take that as extra challenge for points.

Entering The Event:
  1. This is the official level editors contest for plazma burst 2. A new thread will be made for each theme table.
  2. Starting from season 6, map developers can either submitting existing maps or start making their map based on the new updated format of themes from the 1st of the month and have approximately a whole month to submit the map.
  3. Only one submissions is allowed per person/team. If you give me more than 1 submission, I will just replace it before the deadline strikes the clock.
  4. Starting from season 4, you can build your maps with others! We are not limiting this contest to 1 creator only but in a maximum of 4 creator. If you're working with a team, we advise that you work out who is going to ultimately post the project into the contest before getting started. Gather your friends, build together!
  5. Starting from season 5, forum bbcode presentation is rocked on. Add lots of screenshots showing off your build, write something about your work, maybe write a description of your building process and in general to increase your chances of making it into the winner.
  6. Don't use anyone else's work. Enter only your own maps.
  7. Keep the submission thread clean - if you have a question, Contact me on Plazma League Server.
  8. Don't edit your map other than minor bug fixes once submission deadline is over.
  9. Starting from season 4, you had to submit the .pb2map format files to me, and I will help you upload it to another account which stores all corresponding season map contest submission for fair voting.
  10. By participating the event you are acknowledged that you are not allowed to publish the submission map on yourself until the event is over.
  11. When submitting your map, remember to follow the submissions template - this makes it much easier to determine if your map is suitable.

How to submit your maps?
Please submit in this format, and private message me through discord or forum private message with the format below:

Code: Select all
Your PB2 username
Your Discord username with tags.
Your map title
Submission requirement table code (such as A1,B3,C6)
A .pb2map file (stop giving me xml file cuz xml can crash things away and away)
A .txt file of the bbcode

Starting from season 5, The bbcode advertisement event is rolled on. We offer each participants an additional thread which they can use forum bbcode to decorate their submission advertisement, to enhance their map appearance and produced some magic which the official site map description can't provide of. (and it is counted as part of the contest points)

Multiple submissions are accepted, but we only kept the newest ones.

Examples of making a good bbcode advertisement click here.

Methods of downloading your own .pb2map file check here

Voting Period
Starting from season 7, there are 2 phases of voting:

First is the Post Voting. We will create a new post just for posting the submissions, thus providing the vote emojis.
That post is set for only allowed to react, for discussion of the submission, we will create another post for you to tell.

Second is the Judges Voting. We will rate the map based on few aspects:
- Gameplay (50%)
- The flow of the story, difficulty, navigating the maps, etc.
- Interface (50%)
- The usage of decorations, sky, parallax effect, etc
- Technical (50%)
- The usage of trigger mechanism, var, session var, etc.

The method to calculate those votes can refer to scoring methods.

Scoring Methods:
Starting from season 7, we will be separating the points into 3 sections:

1. Post Polling (25%)
2. Judges Score (50%)
3. Extra Requirement (25%)

The total will be 100%.

- Post Polling score will be based on the division of your received votes by the total of the unique votes, then multiplies the 25%.
Example: (8/15) * 25 = 13.33%

- Judges Score will taking average of that three aspects, which will be 50% maximum.
Example: (35 + 33 + 38) / 3 = 35.33%

- Extra Requirement (Orange Square) will be maximum of 25 points, addictive.
Example: If you completed 6 Orange squares and get 5 points each, you would still only get 25 points for that.

For the example, the final score will be 13.33% + 35.33% + 25% = 73.66%.
The highest point will get 1st place.
