On "Set Character 'A' color pattern"

I would like to know what available colours as well as their corresponding letters are (e.g. w = white; b = blue) since I have not been able to find a single guide on it and I frankly cannot be arsed to perform guesswork. I distinctly remember seeing a guide on it that was either here or on the site proper, but I have not been able to locate. If any soul around here can direct me to it, assuming it's still around, that would be much appreciated.
