Computer generated decoration?

Straight png images for backgrounds or decors are alright but it would be nice if there are some computer generated background so the pattern isn't clearly there.
Things like leaves or vines background could benefit from this.

There are computer generated valleys that can be seen in the background when players are outside.
I'm unsure of its current progress since the last update on it was years ago.
