Make Pistols Great Again

PB2 have 3 (canonical) pistols. At last level of upgrade pistols doing good their job. ^_^

But have you ever used pistols in campaign after level ~5? I don't think so. :nope:
The big disadvantage of PB2 and PB1:FTTP is not animated weapons change.

IRL pistols are weapons of second chance. You have ran out of ammo in firefight? Quickly grab pistol to save your life.
In PB2 for example you don't need to do this. Weapons have unlimited ammo.

What about PB3? Yes, as we know animated weapons change exists there. Limited ammo does. And even dual pistols do too. Let's take a look:

1. What we can see?
-Proxy grabs the assault rifle.
2. How long does it take?
- ~10 frames. (It's ~1/3 of a second) And +10 frames because she grab it light-handed.

Move on.
1:01 (Time Code of video up there).
1. What we can see?
-Proxy reloads the assault rifle.
2. How long does it take?
- ~21 frames. (It's ~2/3 of a second)

And now. It's time to say the problem.
Changing a weapon from your back must cost longer time than changing a weapon from the leg. We didn't see if pistols are changing faster. But assault rifle is changing too fast. (It's way too profitable to grab a better weapon from your back than pistol).

In case if you didn't understand any word because of my great grammar:

I hope it will be profitable to change weapon from assault rife to pistol in the middle of firefight if you have ran out of ammo in your magazine in PB3. (Because otherwise pistols are useless in late game)

Good suggestion, I think I will implement it. Except maybe for case when player has two pistols (though not sure, these can cause higher damage per second but also have doubled reloading speed which isn't always useful in combat).
