New grenade

Postby LazyRain » 29 June 2016, 22:50

Well, I don't know how to name it and how it will looks, but I will try to explain the principle of how it works.

This grenade works in standard time as usual grenade. After activation it creating round field which have size as round of Shield grenade and behaves as usual water. It means that any players or objects which have got in this field will float, as in the water. As for water, it's possible to give damage parameter for this fields. Fields have more transparent color of current water/acid color and at interaction let out sparks instead of water splashes. If two fields are crossed, then they will work as one. As well as 2 water regions.

Seems it's all.
Notice: This topic firstly about my new idea. Therefore if you want to write your idea, please, write what you think about mine.

Things in water slow down, players, bullets etc. So how 'bout a "stasis" grenade? Like the statis ability in Dead space.

imo they're both overpowered, but I could see alot of potential in puzzle maps.

Sounds good. Let's say it will work 5 seconds. And did you saw my "Lamp grenade" idea? Here
Also about more new types:
- Poison.
- EMP. Shut off vehicles for a while.
- Healing.
- Pushing. Push all objects out of field. Small work time.
- Black hole. Attracts all objects in the center of effect area and causes damage. Work only 5 seconds.
- Mines. Can be same types as grenades.
- Flashbang, Smoke, Napalm. You know, some topics about that.
- And my Lamp grenade. Deploy usual lamp after activating.

Hmm EMP. Only for vehicles? What if EMP grenade disabled nearby enemies' HUD for 7 seconds. I mean health, and things like that, and wouldnt show names so they cant tell if you are an enemy or not. Maybe a bit bad vision for 3 seconds. I mean like ants would walk over the screen. You know what i mean

Flash: What if flash would make enemies blind? And would not hear shots. For 2 seconds.

Good ideas eh?

It's good, Cpt.
But can you say something about my idea in the first post?

- Hmm... If you mean the players would be able to float on water then this seems impractical - the players will be unable to move since they're in a bubble. I think a boat would be better
- If you mean the players would be able to move within the shield as if they were in water then I think this would be a fair replacement for slow motion in PB2 multiplayer

Mines - should be invisible and shouldn't be fatal
Flashbang - I don't think this would work since they would be shielded by their visors (but that doesn't matter). Instead how about some sort of jammer like CPT said but it incapacitates the player (audio and visual effects of static on screen) by overloading the on board computer with data (so this applies for robots also). After 5 seconds or so the visual and audio effects would cease but the player would be unable to tell the difference between allies and enemies.
I think the rest of 'em are good ideas

EMPs should immobilize both vehicles, robots and armoured suits unless these suits are mechanically powered.
I don't think disabling the HUD would really add anything other than being a nice effect, though with friendly fire in PB2.5 it would be interesting if you don't know who your enemies are.
_______
Personally I'd like frag grenades to be implemented
It creates a smaller explosion than the Grenade C-00n but shoots shrapnel at all directions at fairly high velocities(same as the broken glass in PBFTP)

It is just big circle of "water" thing having the same properties as usual waster. It is useful, for example, if you don't want to break from big height. And as slowing region.

In my initial idea it was the field of some charged particles.

LazyRain wrote:...and at interaction let out sparks instead of water splashes...

Therefore water splashes are replaced with sparks, and the sound when something entrance to such region can be replaced with electric crackle.

You're not the first who have offered it, but idea is good.

There will be jetpacks and selfboosting, so I don't think that would be necessary

There will be jetpacks but I would like to see in what situations should this be used

I'd like to see Magnetic Field Grenades.

The Attractor would curve the projectile trajectories (or genuinely attract them if they are in the way, absorbing them), while Repulsors would work as low-grade reflector Shields.

I would also like to see implosive Grenades.

Personally the two grenades I'd like to see are both Civil Security made.

Standard Frag Grenade and a Flashbang.

Some kind of Usurpation Vortex grenade could be neat to see.

As for the original idea, I'm not sure I'd want to see it. Idk how useful it would be and it just seems rather odd.

Hmmm...yes, it's not very useful. But anyway, thanks for feedback.

That's good ideas. I think it will be more useful.

[EDIT] Vortex grenade.

I like those models you've realized.

I think I could try to draw some Grenade concepts too if you agree.
