Grouping movables, regions

Postby alexwang32 » 31 October 2015, 21:18

As map makers we tend to find linking movables to regions through triggers very tedious, especially when you have complex objects. I have so much respect for the guy who made Word War II, his tanks and helicopters contain many parts.

Simple way to solve this is by adding a group/merge feature, one and fuse two objects of the same type into one, creating new shapes rather just rectangles.

Dunno if it's gonna be easy to implement.

I see what to mean and I like the idea. It might be in Pb2.5.

I have no idea about how could this be implement. At the moment, doors move to the top-left corner of a region, and this is unlikely to work with complex objects. Not sure what can be done with this.

Took me a while to realize that you're talking about a map.

Of course regions should also be mergable, to accommodate for the shape of movables.

Yeah it's this that keeps me from making more planes and similar things
This would be helpful but idk how we would do this.

I was planning to make a mech(1 player) vs 7 players. 1 player would be inside the giant robot made of doors and when he walks right, the robot also walks right. It can be realized but it's extremely time-consuming work

Cool idea.

Complexity in the level editor is always good. Giving more freedom to mapmakers will revitalize PB2.5's multiplayer like never before.

Tweet this at @eric_gurt my friend, this is really good!

I like that idea and it will be cool to group single player maps

Choose who are you . Not to let other choose you
