Map name: .: The Longest Yard :.

Map ID: dandamage-duel

Map description: A space map. Do not worry about it being way too different from fighting on planets, the artificial gravity will keep you on the floor. It can be used as a deathmatch map, or as a cooperative map. The map encourages exploration and security of strategic points, as losing a strategic point leads to the enemy getting a fully upgraded BNG. Mainly used for decisive clan battles, as it is a bigger and more strategic map.

Brief Description:
It's a perfectly symetrical map designed to reward players for exploring and going towards the enemy base. If you manage to reach the enemy base, there is a button for your team (the red base will have a blue-team-only switch that opens a door to a powerful weapon and versa), and the center of the map has a fully upgraded BNG to encourage players to rush to the combat zone.

The map supports up to seven players per team, though it works perfectly well in deathmatches too. Also, there are walls that can be activated to stop the enemy bullets or to prevent them from advancing. The walls return to the original position after a few seconds to avoid permanent defense. If the enemy spams the button, it may delay you, but you will eventually get to them as even with the walls activated you are able to progress, just slower. The walls activated by the switches are pretty thin, so certain projectiles will pass through but dealing lower damage.

This map is mainly made for challenges of groups versus groups of players and has great strategic potential due to its size and mechanics.

The gravitator was confusing, because you couln't really tell it was a pushing area. The map has been modified to be a little less confusing and to make fall damage less likely.

weapon levels are invalid in multiplayer

i think the cs-bng is too broken in a 150 hp map; wouldnt recommend keeping it

The map got revamped based on feedback. The sky was replaced for a brighter version and a few more platforms were added to make fall damage less frequent.

after reading the comments i expected this map to be much better than it actualy is. the design is very poor, makes it look like it was made in early 2012. i liked how you placed bngs on red and blue bases, it adds some secondary objective while playing it. i liked the doors than locks the paths on the opposite sides, even though they are quite useless considering their width and the fact that spider climb glitch remainings can still allow you to jump through them from the left to the right side of it and that gives some kind of advantage to the red team

i don't think that eric should have approved your map. not because i have something personal against you. i just don't like seeing poor designed maps appearing on pb2 approved list. it's 2k17 friend. either make well designed maps or don't ask eric to approve your crap

The funniest part is that I never asked to approve it in the first place. I would definitely make the walls thicker if I could, but now it is already approved. There are no 2012 maps that are like that btw.

There was another map in place of this one, and as with any other approved map, it cannot be edited without losing its approved flag. What I did was create a different version, with brighter sky and slightly different layout, and see if it would get better feedback.

Most aspects were kept because of demand, such as the architecture and the rush reward mechanic. This is a replacement to another map and a direct update from it.
