Fable of an Amnesiac: Prologue

Sinking towards the bottom, you begin to relax. Letting all of your memories, thoughts, and feelings fade into the distance as the darkness envelopes you. Only one thought stayed, however..

Why was this place called the Lethe?

Background design is evidently strong. A large amount of time must have been spent trying to make the janitor's closet and life support capsules look as real as possible. Not to mention the logics required for all the dialogues. I particularly liked the part where Lexi stops dead in his tracks whenever there's an interaction with a significant object, like one of the life support capsules. The part where the door scans him is also pretty cool. By having the lights flicker or go off is also good fore-shadower to whatever has happened in the area. It's obvious that you pay a lot of attention to details, as I also noticed blood when my cursor hovers over the floor. Overall, I think your series has started off on a positive note. Keep up the good work.

The mood and atmosphere in this map was real.
I was expecting something to jump out at me while I was completely defenseless,
and the lower mobility furthers that feeling of helplessness as you feel too slow to run away.

I'm curious to see what happens next. :)

Updates!

Postby Vexiled » 28 November 2015, 00:14

Made a couple updates to the map:
- Fixed some minor grammar errors in dialogues, as well as added a couple new ones here and there.
- Split the bathroom into 2; the men's and women's restrooms.
- Made it so after you go through the first checkpoint it shuts behind you.
- Fixed a minor mistake regarding BG's at the elevator area.

Thanks a lot! Makes me happy to see someone notice how much work I put into the map. In case you (Or anyone else) was wondering, the map's open-sourced if anyone wants to see how I made the map.

I don't mind about the voting, it was just put there to see which title I should continue the series with. Thanks for the compliment though!

Yea, it took a while to get the mood to be right. As for the lower mobility, I didn't think of it giving a feeling of "helplessness", but I like how you said that, gives me an idea. It was mainly put in the map for realism and to keep players from rushing through the map.

Any of you guy's got any suggestions for me? Would be appreciated!

hmm..overall what I can say is the background is really good, you just describe things very well,oh the mostly I remembered part is that elevator shuts down and falling down and explode. including the sounds effect it is really nice!
ok,what I am thinking is somewhere zombie apocalypse or virus. these is what I think it should happen next. If there's something can happened with that situation,I guess my creative isn't enough :D
just curious how you make character freezing.

rated 5 and that's really nice map! keep going on and I will be waiting for part 2!

This is just extraordinary, Awesome, Beautiful, And Amazing! The background is so detailed , Heck this must have taken hours to make it or who knows even days! I have a feeling your going to be a professional-stylish map maker one day :).Keep it up!
However, I have one question;
You created this around July 2015 correct? if I am aren't you going to continue making it?
Looking for a single player series that has action? Some cliff hangers to make you interested into my series and want more? Then I recommend you start playing Project Nexus!

Thanks a lot! About the question, I made this map before I went on a couple month break, so now that I'm back I've been brainstorming ideas on how I should continue it. I don't exactly remember how long it took to create this, been too long, but definitely hours at the least.
