Standalone version in Linux?

I have a very important question for you guys out there. If I get linux on my PC, would I be able to download and/or play PB2 on the standalone version? Thanks if you give me answer, I'd appreciate any help needed.

i guess it depends on how unsupported is the launcher for Linux and win10 and also downloading 32bit and 64bit, Linux could be better than windows, for sure you will be still able to play even with Linux or windows for the launcher since it's downloadable, as for the standalone version I don't really know, maybe you will be still able to play, as long as there won't be issues with the access, so make sure to use the same login that has the standalone password access. browsers might be easier from the launcher, I have seen a lot of players use win10 or Linux, there aren't many differences so maybe you will be able to play standalone.

still, we don't really know well because never read about supported Linux for the launcher, I just knew about supported launcher for win7

You can try installing wine to run exe files, download the Dotnet Runtime and try to install it(Nyove was testing it but i need to ask him) I don't know if Flash projector supports Linux but yeah you can try running it with wine. Wine is basically is ported Windows libraries so there should be no difference between Windows. But you don't even need to use the launcher, download the Flash projector and download the .swf file of the PB2 from the Download button. You can download Flash projector from web archive cuz adobe removed that page. I think the download link exists in this forum or the news page if you want to download it, i think i can provide the link. But yeah you need to run it using wine. Dotnet Runtime is cross platform, it can work with Linux but i don't know if it needs extra build for Linux.

Hey miroBG,

I have tested running the standalone on Ubuntu with the help of Wine.
Unfortunately, the launcher does not seem to work with Linux, after installation of .NET Core.

Just a blank white app.

However, (like in Win XP), you are still able to open and run the .swf file in the data folder directly. You will need a Flash Projector to run the .swf file.

Click on the link to download the Flash Projector, and then extract it. Open the folder and run the "flashplayer" binary by double clicking it.

Next, go to 'File' and press 'Open..'. Navigate to the 'data' folder (in the Launcher folder) and open pb2_re34_alt.swf.

Running the .swf file directly means your account state is not synced with the file. As far as I am concern there is no way around this, but you still can connect to MP and play some matches. (Although I experience certain sound delay, not sure if it's the cause of the flash projector or my Virtual Machine..)
