Hey everyone,

Nyove here. Today I would like to write a little lore about myself if you guys want to know me better.

EARLY YEARS OF PB2
2011 - 2013

Well, I started playing Plazma Burst 2 as a guest in late 2011. I came across Plazma Burst 2 by complete accident. I was playing Plazma Burst FTTP in some flash website known as gamefudge.com (now dead) and I really enjoyed it. Young lil boi me was playing around and tried to type plazmaburst2.com in the URL bar just for fun. I was so so surprised when I saw that it is an legitimate website and this little accident got me all the way till today.

From late 2011 to early 2012, I created an account which I have forgotten the username to. I played PB2 very frequently, and quickly learnt how to lag compensate (something you need to do in the old netcode). My favourite maps back then were spike nitros-smb as well as spike nitros-rgn.

Whilst playing spike nitros-smb, I noticed everyone's name with crazy long tags and I wanted to have one of these tags myself. So I literally smashed my keyboard, and came up with NYOVE. I created a new PB2 account with [NYOVE] <username> and then after awhile I tried to make NYOVE lowercase.
Nyove. Perfect and slick username. I stick with it ever since.

I began my map making career in mid-2012. My first map was a saw map and it was HORRIBLE. However, I really enjoyed the learning process as well as creating maps for others to play. I began creating more maps, a lot of them I have already deleted long ago, like zombie map, saw1, neon-saw, pokemon version 1, as of course my most popular map - nyove-rocket. Nyove-rocket is actually inspired by easykill-rockets, an old map that was kind of popular. However, I have some changes in mind that's why i made Nyove-rocket, think of it as remastered easykill-rockets :P.

I love saw as well as parkour maps back then. Cahir is my favourite map maker at the point of time and XnX is probably my second most favourite map maker of all time. I was also superb in glitching (in the old netcode). Glitching back then requires so much skills and there are many techniques which are obsolete / patched right now, man I miss these good times.

BoA was my very first clan. The clan leader's BoredPro. Was not the best experience I had but still we had enjoyable times. Near the end of 2013 when PB2 starts to die, BoredPro wanted to migrate the clan out of PB2 but I decided to stay. We used xat chat alot back then.

I slowly departured in 2013. PB2 felt really dead at that point of time and I decided to play other games.

MID YEARS OF PB2
2013 - 2019

I didn't really do much back then. I played PB2 on and off in this time period. I made nyove-pokemon version 1 but stupid me accidentally overwrite it with a blank file (was experimenting with the new features of opening map and save map as). It was like 1 year worth of progress and it was getting as popular as nyove-rocket - what an absolute waste. I remade it but people don't really seemed to enjoy version 2 anymore. With all of these setbacks, I decided to make nyove-class eventually.

I joined DLN in 2015. It was an pretty good clan, but I was not very active back then. Fun fact, mrblake was in DLN before he joined the staff team.

In 2017, I began planning my nyove-class. Writing down the abilities as well as imagining the combos in my head, I envision the map to take back the throne nyove-pokemon used to have. I joined PB2 discord and forums in 2017 too, but I barely talked in both of them.

I mainly play League of Legends from 2015 - 2020. Glacial Augment AP Cho'Gath main if you are wondering ;)

LATE YEARS OF PB2
2019 - 2020

Damn, the game is still alive after 9 years. Back then in 2013, PB2 already seemed so dead but look at PB2 now. There's still a very active community in the discord, game as well as forums.

So what made me back into the game? 4 factors:
- Wanted a causal environment (LoL is very tiring and competitive)
- The development of nyove-class
- R!OT
- PB2 discord servers (PBC and PBM)

The 3rd clan I joined is R!OT. R!OT is the clan I had the most fun together - from trolling each other, playing maps together, our warfare trainings and discord - I really really enjoyed my times with this clan. I made valuable friends, iKhaotikx, Ceanto (Geno), Chrysanthos (my SON!) and Quartz Ace, and together we had sweet lasting memories. R!OT was the clan that sparked my interest back into PB2, and introduced me to the competitive side of the game.
Eventually I left the clan for certain reasons.

I am finally almost finished developing nyove-class in 2020 and I am really proud of the results. The only thing I am not so contented with is the entire map's layout - but hey it's pretty decent too. Even if the map didn't get popular, I still felt really proud of myself for completing such a long term PB2 project.

Early 2020, Kiriakos Gr96 approached me to join his discord server. (Back then I didn't even know he is a PB2 admin, I thought he is just some map maker ahah). He exposed me and some map makers into the approval and we began playtesting maps together. We had valuable times together and from there I also met many valuable people and created many precious memories. Kiriakos Gr98- I mean Gr96 himself, Creeperhunter55, Kubakuba (I miss you), Stryde (always booly) and Avre, thanks for the times we had together.

I continue map making and found myself a new passion, which is to assist as many users with the PB2 ALE as possible. Be it through forums, open sourced maps or discord, I will try my best to make map making a better place for everyone.

It has been a long and WILD ride guys. Nyove signing out.

Best regards,
nyobe ;)
Proud to be part of something meaningful.

I was born in 1999, and my parents would allow me 2h of PC time after lunch on wednesdays, saturdays and sundays. I remember mostly playing on Minijuegos.com and being stuck for ~15 minutes on the last level of PB:FttP. Sword bot was immune to my bullets, and grenades didn't work either. Was I supposed to stop Noir from charging, or did I have to run past it while somehow avoiding his swords? I believe my big brother showed me how to kill him with the door then, because we played in front of each other.

Very shortly after, around 2012 PB2 came out and it would be part of my favorite flash games (Crazy Flasher, Intrusion, Raze, Sift Heads, etc) I'd come back to regularly. I joined multiplayer once or twice but the hundreds of people online + unfamiliar menu were off-putting, along players jumping all around killing each other. Then for a while I played crappy online games like War of Dragons or World of Tanks.

I came back around mid-2017 or 2018, registered for the first time under the name of Krylion, and started playing SP maps. The only advantage I saw to registering was saving my progress along playing SP maps, and I was unaware of the discord for quite some time. The forums didn't look too interesting either due to the outdated interface, despite having posted quite a bit in WoW and WoT's forums. I very briefly visited the discord, but ended requesting account deletion the 15 November 2019.

17th February 2020 I made an account named Gashadokuro to continue my SP adventures, and in mid October 2020 I joined the discord, made fanart (twice) as well as became active in the official wiki + forum.

well how's this for a throwback

I don't even remember how I found pb2, I know I played it before FTTP, but I do remember that I played it in 2012 as a guest, and in 2013 I made this account. The first game I joined, I found a guy called predatorrap and told him I wanted to make a clan. He was all in, so I made my own clan, called Star Delta. crazy name, I know. I remember just recruiting anyone I saw in games and having a wild time but predator had to be inactive for whatever reason--so eventually the clan died out.

From there, I joined various clans, but the one that sticks out in my mind is extinction, as I'm still in discord with them, and had stayed in the clan for basically my entire time on pb2. It was just a group of chill people I could chat with, while doing my own thing.

But, of course, I couldn't stay still for too long and decided to remake Star Delta under a brand new name. December fifth, 2013, I made the clan "GoD" once again with Predatorrap, and this one would be the real deal. We had a lot of members, I think around 50 at the peak? But not all active at once, of course, that's not how pb2 really worked. We had alliances, clan wars, internal struggles, the whole nine yards. Really, it was a blast, and everyone was really chill towards me, even if I was maybe a little bit of an edgy dictator. I joined various other clans while leading GoD, like Assassin$, and then I left Assassin$ to join Zephyr.

Zephyr was a really big deal to me, at the time. It had maybe 10 people in it max, never played the game, and just hung out in chat. I really liked that, I didn't feel too stressed or pressured to do anything but vibe. A lot of things happened to me while I was in Zephyr, really more personal things than I'm willing to mention in a pb2 forum post, but the thing to keep in mind is that Zephyr changed me a lot, I'd say maybe for the better. Maybe.

Honestly, the real tragedy of the whole thing is that at some point, GoD died and I moved on, making new clans. I made one with Auditore, got to top 100, and got bored of the game.

Now, as an aside--this whole time, I had been very active in pb2 site chat, meeting so many people that I remember and even talk to today--tehswordninja(legend), proxyangel, guineazilla, assassinguy, thetoppestkek, loads of others. I had a real penchant for starting shit though, I constantly got into arguments over whatever I could find, and in general that lead to a lot of people not really liking me a whole lot.

Remember the karma system, guys? Oh yeah, that was a blast. I remember so many people trying to group kick me out and just failing. I thought it was really funny back in the day, actually, that so many people really wanted me gone. I kinda don't blame them, in retrospect, I just really wanted to argue with people for whatever reason.

But, as with most things, I got burned out. Four years of relentlessly playing pb2, and I had enough. I made my crappy maps that got few votes(except sniperworld which is the first one i ever made that got a lot of votes holy hell), I had done my bouncing around clans, I got to the top 100, I didn't really care about continuing my pb2 'career'.

So, I quit.

Officially, I joined PB2 in late 2018. Technically, I had discovered the game earlier on third party websites, but there was nothing too memorable during that time. When I registered, my first plan of action was to tackle the campaign.
Sounds familiar, I guess. You probably know the rest.

Once the campaign was finished, I really didn't have much to do. I tried the multiplayer, but hated it. It was clear at the time that PB2's multiplayer was far past its golden age. I didn't verify in the Discord until 2020, and I wasn't really keen on using the forum at that time either. Then, I discovered the ALE. I played around with it, and spent all day making this crappy map. It's published now, but I daresay you won't enjoy it. Regardless, I was captivated by the editor and its apparent lack of limitations. I knew at that moment that I wanted to be a mapmaker. Not for LDR, but for my own sake; to have fun.
Looking back, I have categorized my mapmaking experience and the various series I have created into three "generations". Each generation my mapmaking skills improved progressively. I'll explain.

First gen.
Spoiler: Show More
I began working on a series: CS Elite. I'd say it was mediocre to below average at best, but then again, it was my first published map series.

Second series: Heists (if I have the time, I'll give this a remake).
Inspired by GTA heists. Although there were some interesting moments and set pieces, and some small innovations in design, for the most part, it was pretty bad...

Made a few MP maps. Definitely not my type.
There are various other standalone maps I made during this time, but I don't really feel like mentioning them.

After a hiatus, I finally came back in mid-late 2019 to make...

Battlefield Usurpation: If you've played this series lately, then you might be surprised to see me list it in the first gen category. But that's because you haven't played the earlier versions of the series.
Specifically, missions 1-6 of Battlefield Usurpation were all made during the first generation. The quality of the maps ranged from decent to nightmarish. But with the help of some other mapmakers (alright, it was just one), I was able to set things straight.

Spoiler: Show More
Big thanks to DMSwordmaster. I wouldn't have been able to make it this far without your ranting. If you're reading this, I hope you can put some time aside to play my more recent maps.
If you're not DMS, then shoo, this is private.

Second gen.
Spoiler: Show More
Small Squad Tactics: This was a small series that I made sometime between my transition between first and second gen, and has carried on into the third gen. It's unpublished right now, but that's because I'm giving it a remake.

Battlefield Usurpation is the only series I have made that has been worked on during the first, second, and third generation of my mapmaking. From missions 7 through 19, it was all me with my second gen mapmaking skills.
But towards the end of the second generation, something was beginning to change. I was no longer making maps that consisted of flat ground punctuated by the occasional crate. I was starting to add more layers, more depth to the map. There were flanking routes, verticality, more options to reach the end zone. I was beginning to transition into the next generation...

Third gen.
Spoiler: Show More
Third gen, also the current generation of my mapmaking career, started towards the end of my making of Battlefield Usurpation, and carried on in the remainder of my maps. Around the same time, I had just published the latest in my Small Squad Tactics series, and I believe this is when third gen really kicked off.

During the transition between second and third gen, I made two standalone maps: Sniper Elite and Tactical Insertion, in that order. Sniper Elite was well received, and Tactical Insertion received mixed/positive ratings.

Now, even though I had finished the Battlefield Usurpation series at the time, my work with the series was far from over. When I looked back, I was able to point out several flaws in the map design, dialogue, aesthetics, etc. Unlike the Heists and CS Elite series, the majority of Battlefield Usurpation was developed after the inception of v 1.32 and during the second generation. Therefore, I decided that the series was worth saving. And so the third generation began with me getting BFUSURP up to par with my current gen requirements. This so called "proofreading" of my maps continues to this day, albeit much less frequently. I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging, but if Battlefield Usurpation did not deserve the praise it received back in the day, then it certainly does now.

Battlefield Usurpation II: The meat of the current gen, and what I believe to be my best series up to this day. There were many improvements in this series over its predecessor. First of all, the cutscenes were far more cinematic and well made. The design was, for the most part, top notch. Aesthetics were definitely better now that my style was more refined and I was more familiar with the new features of the ALE. There's not much else I have to say about this series, other than the fact that I believe I certainly have come a long way. But my mapmaking doesn't end there.

Holdout: An SP Survival Mission is the single most logistically complicated map I ever made. It pushed the boundaries of my trigger handling abilities, and while it may not be the most impressive map in PB2 out there, it definitely is high up on my own list of maps. Aside from the logics, the design and aesthetics of the map were pretty good. Feel free to check it out. The map is technically not finished yet, but it definitely feels like a complete product.

LEL S5 Submission: All Callsigns Bravo. This was my submission for Season 5 of the Level Editors League. The results for the competition aren't out yet. It's definitely not my best map, and probably won't make it to first place, but I put in good effort, and at the end of the day it can still hold its own.

XMS 11 Goliath: My latest standalone map. It's still a WIP, so not much to say about that.

So that leads to today. Currently, I'm in the middle of remaking SST. Battlefield Usurpation II is still being worked on. Holdout and XMS will be updated. Otherwise, I'll be checking out other people's custom maps and enjoying life. Feel free to visit my profile page to have a look at my stuff.
