What ever this is, needs to be fixed.

Postby Lance Ryder Wilson » 22 November 2019, 22:04

Whenever I kill a player in the game, it dies on my screen, but it doesn't actually die, this tricks me and I get killed, whatever this is bug, error, etc needs to be fixed.

(NOTE: I am not the one having this problem, a lot of people have this sort of problem.)

To be fair I think everybody has this problem by now. It's to do with the implementation of the recent "hit netcode" which therefore affects everybody's gameplay. Whereas the example has been given, if you seemingly "kill" a player but they don't actually die until 2-3 seconds have passed and then it registers the player has been eliminated. Or instead you shoot a player and it may seem like they died, but instead they end up killing you / you die to thin air.

It is because of the newly updated hit reg. A player only dies if the bullet collides with the enemy on your screen. If it did but he somewhat got 'revived', it is because of the ping latency.

I believe there is no way to fix this at the moment in PB2 as it would always be client-sided.
Should have hopes for PB2.5
