But I checked the forums and the bing bot is offline.

Which has prompted me to ask, what is the bing bot? What does it do? Why is it offline?

bing bot is actually online again, it was down probably for maintance

anyway, the bingbot is a web-crawler, it searches internet websites to check for website content, google has one as well (googlebot, im p sure ive seen it here!) and so on for a lot of companies actually, anyway, bing bot is obviously for the bing search engine, and ran by microsoft
