How to subscribe to PB2 forums

Postby ZapruderFilm » 15 November 2018, 09:29

Hi. You may have noticed the new orange buttons next to board names on the forums. These buttons link to RSS feeds for the forum. They can be utilized to 'subscribe' in a sort of way to the forums. Here is an example.

Step 1: Pick a forum to sub to and click its orange button. If you want to subscribe to every board, use this link:
feed.php

Once you've opened it, you can pick a feed reader. I'm going to use https://feedly.com . When picking a reader, some can work on mobile and such, but others don't. This one is web based, so I can use it on most platforms.

Register an acc and paste the feed URL into the searchbar.

Name it whatever. Then, baddabing baddaboom, you have a forum feed to your fingertips.

You can also use feedly for many other things, because RSS is extremely common.
I will add more to this later, but this should cover the gist.

The forums feed bot is something I coded that reads the forum RSS feed and does essentially exactly what this tutorial shows, except it just posts it in a discord channel.

However, if the bot breaks or something, this method would still work. Additionally, not everyone wishes to endorse discord, and often for good reason. This would offer an alternative.
