Enable Collision for decorations button

Postby evgeniy74 » 20 November 2019, 15:31

Enable collision button for decors helps level developers make round walls, slopes without small invisible doors and lags.

Non-transment pixels will replaced to hitbox (with option of hitbox scale)
Hitbox scale: 1pixel = 1 hitbox 10 pixels = 1 hitbox or 100 pixels = 1 hitbox.

I think its a useful stuff make easier level creators' life.

problem with this is that unintended parts of decors would become collision areas. at least with doors, mapmakers can control which parts of a decor can be collided with or not

1 hitbox per 1 px would be incredibly complicated by the way. games generally have less but larger hitboxes that cover a larger area to make hit detection simpler though that method has its own problems as well.

there are only so few decors that have unintended parts which are the gravitator field and the killer ray and the crashing alien ship, those decors are easily coverable

that comment was in reference to custom decors, which are definitely more varied in shape and design complexity and would take more time calculating hitboxes, especially if they're as ridiculously small as 1 px each

Wouldn't it be simplier to use grid snap and invisible doors behind the decorations?
How many bugs does this game have anyway? jeez

a clearly foreseeable issue is the fact that some decors are HUGE so a error is possible when rescaling
you know i began to realize why youtubers beg for likes and shit its cause people forget to rate otherwise like come on how many people can have under 100 kills!

The biggest problem of this method will be laggy on flash calculations.
Yeah, a decoration which can be collide will be a good idea; but meanwhile the PB2 is made with "pixels" and "blocks of squares". So you can't expect a good decor collision.

Maybe it will cause more "decor eating people" rather than "wall eating people" worthy.
