[APPROVAL REQUEST] y o o v y-storage

Postby Y o o v y » 9 August 2020, 18:46

- To the best of my knowledge, the following map fits all requirements to be approved: YES
- The following map contains no unfair hidden features: YES
- The following map contains nothing against the PB2 Code of Conduct: YES
- I have read and understood fully the Required Reading for posting a Map Approval Request: YES
- I have read and understood fully the Map Approval Rules: YES

[2]
- Map Name: Storage
- Map ID: y o o v y-wave
- Link to Map Page: https://www.plazmaburst2.com/?s=9&a=&m= ... &id=992629
- Link to Map Demo: https://www.plazmaburst2.com/?s=2&map=y ... 0y-storage

[3]
- Give a brief description of the map:

Alrighty, where to begin: Storage is an outdoor desert-themed Cooperative/Deathmatch which supports 4v4 or Free-for-All. The teams being Civil Security Lites versus Minor Usurpation Soldiers, they're multiple boxes and storage resources for players to duck behind and not risk their heads getting shot off.

- Why you think the map deserves to be approved: I personally feel like the map is balanced at the moment but I do know it's subject to change if it's tested, I can't find all the wrongs about it on my own so I want to strive to get this approved as it'd be my first approved map for the community.

- Any other comments:

Map statistics:

-Supports Cooperative and Deathmatch.
-Four vs Four (Civil Security Lites vs Minor Usurpation Soldiers)
-Players are equipped with CS-Pistols, CS-Assault Rifles, CS-Shotgun DAZ's, and Defibs. However, there are 4 CS-Rocket Launcher LitBro's by each team's side that they'll have to venture out a bit to obtain while risking having conflict with the enemy team. All players get 2 Regular Grenades and 1 Shield Grenade.
-On Deathmatch Players are equipped with CS-Pistols, CS-Assault Rifles, CS-Shotgun DAZ's, Defibs, and The CS-Rocket Launcher LitBro's. Same grenade count as mentioned above.
-Map is semi-large but not too big, with plenty of platforms and a small in-door control room in the middle of the map. Each team also has a pretty fortified bunker that they start in and can also camp in or go out and grab Rocket Launchers before the other enemy team decides to.

~This concludes my approval request.

This map is more for custom maps not approval.

I strongly agree. The decor and background just don't really fit approval maps standards.

I respect the look, I would reduce the clutter by reducing num of objects.

I plan on totally remaking this map but as of right now I'm not avaliable on my computer because irl stuff. I appreciate the feed back and I'll try making this more simplistic when I can.

Playtest #1:

- Platform is easily glitchable from high heights https://prnt.sc/u07t29
- Heavy amount of decorations that lead to oversaturation. I know you have said this is an "approved version" of Shipyard or something from another game called Raze, but this still does not feel like PB2 universe.
- Girders do not look good overlapping in front of walls on map https://prnt.sc/u07tn6 https://prnt.sc/u07tz9
- This wall does not look good being buried by decorations https://prnt.sc/u07tz9
- How can a crate, a set of storage lockers, and a warehouse all have roughly the same dimensions? There's a signifncant scaling factor that is not taken into account with decorations being used in my opinion https://prnt.sc/u07udl
- Some trees are on top of sand wall texture, some trees look like they are "sunken" into sand texture. See leftmost and middle trees for comparison https://prnt.sc/u07uul
- It's difficult to know what decorations are solid and what decorations aren't solid because there are so many
- Floating table legs https://prnt.sc/u07va3
- Many decorations feel out of place and unneeded https://prnt.sc/u07vp9
- Map does not satisfy the number of ratings or number of plays required for map to become approved

This is a minor point that you can't fix and I don't expect you to fix. I hate to be an annoyance about this, but when it comes to making maps, the account username and map ID itself are important to pay attention to. People are lazy and don't like to type out long map IDs or complicated names. It's almost as if you have played yourself into a disadvantage because of this.

I'll be making changes on the 17th of August since that's when I get back, already knew decors were a problem so I'll try fixing those among the other things you mentioned. Thanks for the feedback.

To be honest the map looks really good and amazing details but if you wish to get it approved it should be more simple
like other approved maps i also want this one to get approved https://www.plazmaburst2.com/index.php? ... erry--demo
i used to make detailed maps but when i make approved maps i make it so simple

Approval request for Y o o v y-storage has been rejected based off of playtesting feedback at this time. Most of the feedback is the same feedback that you received when I playtested your map a few weeks ago. The map has not made any progress since and has been rejected at this time.
