- To the best of my knowledge, the following map fits all requirements to be approved: Yes
- The following map contains no unfair hidden features: Yes
- The following map contains nothing against the PB2 Code of Conduct: Yes
- I have read and understand fully the Required Reading for posting a Map Approval Request: Yes
- I have read and understand fully the Map Approval Rules: Yes

[B]
- Map Name: [OS]Silent Phoenix-dt
- Map ID: dying-3
- Link to Map Page: http://plazmaburst2.com/?s=9&m=dying-3
- Link to Map Demo: http://plazmaburst2.com/?s=2&map=dying-3

[C]
- Give a brief description of the map: remake of a previously-approved silent phoenix-dt after the map creator unpublished the map
- Why you think the map deserves to be approved: original map was approved > original map got unpublished > this map is a copy > this map is used in plazma league > this map should be approved
- Any other comments: title of the map should be changed

This is getting into a grey area of the requirements which I've talked about to a few people (kiriakos, tempus, dandamage, etc) already.

In early days of PB2, if you had an approved map, you could unpublish it and it would stay approved. I'm not sure if this is how it still works today, whether it was intended, or just an unreported bug. So if there's ever a reason Silent Phoenix publishes Silent phoenix-dt again, there would essentially be two copies of this map (if this one was to get approved).

But this map shouldn't be approved, regardless of what it's used for. If dying isn't Silent Phoenix, and dying just copied the design from a video or previous pictures of Silent Phoenix-dt, it isn't an original design. If Silent Phoenix didn't opensource the map, then someone took the time to copy it by the use of the background. If Silent Phoenix did opensource the map, then someone literally just saved the map as their own and still shouldn't be approved. The point, if this is a copy, and dying isn't Silent Phoenix, it shouldn't be approved. Lastly, if Silent Phoenix unpublished the map, I'm sure there's some valid reason in his eyes to unpublish his approved map.

In case you're still confused, you don't see the copies of Stryde-sniper that were traced over from backgrounds approved as well, for two reasons: 1) they're a copy pf Stryde-sniper; 2) none of the copies were made by the original mapmaker

The map should still be approved.

If Silent Phoenix miraculously comes back to PB2 to republish silent phoenix-dt, then this should be unapproved, as it is only serving as a placeholder until the aforementioned event happens (if ever).

Dying isn't Silent Phoenix; yes, you're right. However, silent phoenix-dt is a good map and deserves approval. And since it's unpublished, dying-3 is the next best thing. It doesn't matter if dying copied Silent Phoenix. He did it for a reason: people enjoy and like to play this map. And now players that play competitively can no longer bring it to the ranked scene because the original no longer exists.

Also, credits can and should be given to Silent Phoenix in the map description.

And in case you're still confused, stryde-sniper copies aren't being approved because stryde-sniper is still approved. If it were to get unpublished for over 6 months, then that's when people would start making sfryde-sniper map approval threads.

You have it backwards.

Silent Phoenix didn't open source the map. That's an immediate sign that he doesn't want the map source available to the public and doesn't want others to copy the design for anything. Silent Phoenix unpublished the map. That's an immediate sign that maybe he didn't like the map and deleted to either delete it or unpublish it.

You shouldn't remake something that someone didn't want remade, and give the original mapmaker credit after stealing the map. The real way you should ever do this: you talk to the original mapmaker and ask them for permission. Any remark about inactivity here from SP is irrelevant, because he is still around today. There's no real reason to approve stolen maps anyways, if someone gets an approved map from a stolen design, it should be unapproved/disapproved. The concept of placeholder maps is dumb. There's over 270 approved maps and nearly 50 of them can be unapproved simply due to unpopularity. I think PB2 community will be perfectly fine finding one of the 270+ approved maps to play instead of any stolen copy.

an exception could have been made for this, seeing how there are only 2 approved rocket maps, one of which is poorly made and doesn't fit approval requirements.

but alright don't approve a copy of the only decent rocket map. im tired of trying to prove a point that doesn't get through
