[APPROVAL REQUEST] joe6767-urban

Postby joe6767 » 18 November 2017, 07:03

- To the best of my knowledge, the following map fits all requirements to be approved: YES
- The following map contains no unfair hidden features: YES
- The following map contains nothing against the PB2 Code of Conduct: YES
- I have read and understand fully the Required Reading for posting a Map Approval Request: YES
- I have read and understand fully the Map Approval Rules: YES

- Map Name: :|Urban_Warfare|:
- Map ID: joe6767-urban
- Link to Map Page: http://www.plazmaburst2.com/?s=9&a=&m=j ... &id=797420
- Link to Map Demo: http://www.plazmaburst2.com/?s=2&map=joe6767-urban

- Give a brief description of the map:

Teams of four engage in close quarters combat in an urban zone. Each player starts with a CS-RC, C01-p, and a defibrillator. 8 16 alien shotguns are scattered around the map.
-8 players
-150 HP
-playable on Coop, TDM, and DM
-Medium/Large map
-Map is broken into 3 sections

- Why you think the map deserves to be approved:

-The map is fairly large, but there aren't many open spaces (Other than the roofs of the buildings) for people to spray. There are a fair number of doors to prevent spraying at the lower levels where it is more exposed.
-Having tested this multiple times, I have found it very hard to camp, even near top corners of the map, as you can easily be picked off by shotguns and nades if you stay in one place. This forces players to move around frequently.
-The map layout is simple, yet interesting. The platforms aren't simple rectangles, and the buildings have their own unique design.
-The map is asymmetrical but is balanced for both teams. Being a larger map, players can feel 'safe' for the first few moments in a round.
-The weapon selection is balanced, and each weapon is useful in some way. For example, while the pistol does not have the same power as the shotgun, it can pierce through some of the thinner walls in the map.

- Any other comments:
None.

Great map, i like that how you gived the walls a texture outline, just like i did on my demolition map ^^
My two tipps for this map are :
- Give your backgrounds some outlines, it looks than better http://prntscr.com/hcdufe
- Maybe you could mark this place/pusher with a laser http://prntscr.com/hcdum4
All in one a cool map, you got my 5 stars ^^

Hey, thanks for the great suggestions! And thank you for rating 5. ^-^

I love all of your suggestions, but in the end, I think my personal preference overrules everything. :P
I personally feel that lasers look a bit off in this map, and outlining the backgrounds with the same colour as the wall outlines look weird to me. I suppose that I could probably use light background instead.

Again, thanks for the feedback!

Ultimas, Lxxx, whatever you call yourself now, thanks for the feedback. However, could you be a bit more constructive? I would appreciate it if you could offer any alternative suggestions for the background, as an example.
