music system

this can also be added into pb2
so there have been a lot of people wanting to add music into pb2, via yt videos or files, but these r not viable
so theres two things possible
.abc files(not really that great), .mid files(not really that great too), and the one i think would be the best
adding sounds for each note
from c0 to c8, it would be enought, just a simple square wave or maybe a piano, soemthing simple
so people can just make music using timers
heres a simple example
c5 - c5 - g5 - g5 - a5 - a5 - g5 - g5 - f5 - f5 - e5 - e5 - d5 - d5 - c5
this is the main melody of twinkle twinkle little star
each - is a timer with a delay of 30 is 4 at 4/4 with standard tempo
so its really simple, you use the edit trigger as text and change the thing from like
sound_squarewave_c5 to g5, simple right? with an activated timer you will copy
if this gets added, im not kidding, im doing like the entire well tempered clavier in pb2
and that is it
also would encourage people to learn music! like it did with programming with the addition of the vars

Since the sound trigger is PB2 a sound "file", maybe a new trigger
"play note 'A' in region 'B'"
"play note 'A'"

maybe add something else too?
"change note to instrument 'A'"
that way, we can change it to any instruments we want to

"set note bass to value 'A'"
you know, i had to do it to 'em
and something similar

This is a refreshingly different, new, realistic, and neat idea. I'd love to see this implemented simply as a nice little extra thing to add to maps.

the thing with the instruments could work, maye do it like the TTS thing?
anyway theres no such thing as note bass to value A, just like,

play note X with instrument Y
instrument could change, but id say a square wave synthesizer and a piano would do it pretty well
so i want to play a c at the 5th octave, c5! indeed great right

we need length too, we can't just make music with less than 0.1 second note
"play note 'A' with length value of 'B'"
my english, OOF

not really, a square wave can last 0.1 and it is going to sound like old video games like mario sonic etc, ofc a piano voice would really need that

but i realized it has to be like this
create instrument A with voice B (instruments basically, also add a few drums and some synths like square wave and maybe saw wave, cuz i feel like some people are going to do edm/dubstep/etc)
set note lenght of instrument A to value B (this would get changed quite often, mostly for a piano voice)
and ofc
play note A with instrument B

or, if eric wants to make it less computer heavy, i think adding a sound and chaging its pitch would be better, idk how it really would work, but i mean, each note has its own exact frequency
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_n ... ncy_(hertz)
you can also google for a full table i think
this + really long notes would allow for things like vibratos, but then its going too far

This seems like a neato trigger idea. Niche, but people can have some fun with it. Might be hard for some people to know what notes they need to put down though.

Instead of using timers, you could do something like this:

c5 [15] c5 (Play c5, wait 15 frames/half a second then play c5)

Maybe a play button for this trigger action would be nice, or a custom mini interface.

this is a great idea that makes a great idea even greater
also allow players to set volume for each instrument, with a limit so nobody goes deaf or smth i dont want to listen to earrape versions of despacito in pb2
i mean this is actually really great!
