PB2.5 Skill points and leveling up

What about skill points and leveling up only in campaign?

So my idea is when we level up we gain a skill point to spend them.

And equiping skill points so when we press a button, (idk) i think J,K,L to activate skills.

I think first skill is Rage and gives you extra damage for 5 secconds
Max skill capacity might be 3.

Doesn't really fit the PB Style, but it could be interesting if it could happen along Single Player Series.

It's definitely an interesting one, and I don't see any reason not to have this in campaign, or SP maps.

Here's some ideas for power-ups:
- Speed: Extra sprinting speed and increased rate of fire on all weapons for 10 seconds.
- Armour: Reduced damage from attacks for 30 seconds.
- Fireproof: Reduced damage from explosions for 30 seconds.
- Vaccine: Reduced damage from the drone virus gun thing for 30 seconds.

I think levelling up would work better in multiplayer.
as you could fight against players of your skill level(approved only)

I do agree that we need some sort of matchmaking system which puts you with players of a similar skill, but this topic is more about power-ups and perks awarded for skill, and therefore I think the idea only applies to SP, this would make MP too unbalanced.

I agree with AG, this idea would nicely work on SP rather than MP due to the perks you'd get. In MP, people may be on lower levels and have less perks which gives you an unfair advantage over them.

I don't support perks and skills or whatever, thus I don't support this idea! It doesn't fit PB2 in my opinion!

In SP it gives you a little bit of help and makes gameplay more fun, you wouldn't have to use the perks if you didn't want to, so if you don't like them, it doesn't harm your experience.

tfw plazma burst 2.5 turns into fallout platformer shooter

Jokes aside, this looks good.
However I don't see why you are going to level up in PB2.5 anyway, I mean there is Raze and Strike Force Heroes series but that's another story. (if the levels were short as PB2)
But if Singleplayers map in PB2.5 is more appreciated, then maybe this idea will be worth it.
And could also give to custom map developers options to mess around with the skills so it could be alot more stricter or more fun to the maps.
