Online Friends' in-game whereabouts

Postby FRC10 » 22 March 2016, 09:26

I want Eric to add "location of a player in game" linked to status column when someone is "online" as shown on the friends list. In simple words, ppl should know where their friends are playing/spectating.
Suppose I see someone online on my friends list. See the picture : http://prnt.sc/aidhvo
If I click on "online", a small sized window should pop up with details of in game location of him/her.
The pop up should read like this :
Player name : [ArK]~Lone Wanderer~Silencehunter(R)
Server Name : Eu or Wash or Cali (whichever my friend is on)
Match/Map Section : Ranked/Unranked/Custom
Map Name : whatever map he is playing/spectating in.

If he is not playing the game, pop up should mention "No info available".

Ppl will try to have more friends if this option is made available. In this way, we could surely enjoy the game more by playing with our friends. Also more activity will be possible. Players wont have to just log in to find players to play with. They know where they have to go and play. They dont need to waste time on searching from server to server or map to map.

I agree with this idea. It will help if you want to play with your friend(s). It's very annoying when I want to play with my friends that are online, but I don't know about their whereabouts. In my opinion, it's a good way of finding your friend(s)'s whereabouts.

Riot Facts: #001

Riots can happen in every country, almost at any time. The police uses riot gear to protect themselves from damage, right?
Well, the riot shield might protect the riot police from molotov cocktails, rocks, etc..
But did you know that in most countries, riot shields are rated good against only pistol rounds?
So any caliber shot higher than 9mm. can break the shield, and can damage the wielder of the shield. For example, if someone were to fire a Barett .50cal at an riot police officer, it would break a part from the shield, and it would wound the police officer.

+1 for me.

You are absolutely correct. Ppl will have a real and honest reason to have friends list. More friends mean more fun in terms of playing. I hope Eric listen to our voices.

I think the friend system could use a re-work entirely. For example, for PB2.5 i'd like to see a notification system. You could "follow" a map dev and each time a new map comes out you will get some kind of notification. Or if one of their maps gets approved, ect.

On topic, It's a great idea.

Another one of those excellent ideas which I've seen several times before, I sincerely hope that Eric does this for 2.5, and adds an invitation system so we can quickly get friends to our matches.

ill reiterate what others have already said. This is a very good idea. It would help tighten the pb2 community. I often see my friends online but cannot find them in a match. If we could play together it would create a deeper sense of community which would be great for pb2 & pb2.5

Dude, this is pure gold.

YOU of all people have a strong connection with Mr. Gurt, pitch this.

+1 for the topic idea, and +1 for Tempus' idea!

This is like a mega-necro-post, so you may lock the topic.

My apologies but I had to get my word in on this. (I'll revert from necro-posting in the future.)

Thanks!
