Health/Plasma Shield

I had an idea for the 2.5 health system, where the character you control can have another layer of 'hp'

Shields would regenerate somewhat fast, but health regenerates slowly

~Concept Maths
Say you have 250 health, 750 shields;
You become damaged by 875 points;
You are left with 125 health, 0 shields;

~Regeneration
After you were damaged, your health regenerates by ~1 point per 2 seconds;
Your shields regenerate by ~2 or 3 points per second
~~~
It is probably too much wonk (yes, wonk) to program, but I think it could work

After seeing your name. I think I know where you took this idea :P

Well, I like it but I'd give it a 'twist' to make it more different from average health points.

-What if these shields could protect you from acid?
-What if they'd have x damage reduction percentage which could be controlled by triggers?
-What if certain types of ammunition would be more and less effective against them?
-What if they could only regenerate after the character's hp bar is full?

While I find your idea quite good, I don't think implementing this should be in Eric's primary goals regarding PB2.5.
As a 'cosmetic', it's more than all right.

Your idea is alright, but what if shields never regenerated and you have to pickup shield packs?

I disagree, this isn't necessary, a single-level HP system is simple and effective, you get shot, you get damaged, you either die or find cover and respawn, a second layer which regenerates faster is a complexity we don't need, and I can't think of any significant advantages it would bring.

Health is much better why? I can't see any special things about shield except that fast regeneration
