Sure, why not? It's not absolutely essential, but it's fine for people that want to play in an absolutely standard way.
Also at the same time tho, I feel that players would prefer to play how they want and configure the settings to what works for
them instead of the
default way of doing things.
I definitely see where you're coming from though. It's a pet-peeve of some people to accidentally change a setting and not be able to change it back to how it was in default.
Overall, not a bad idea.
