I did the shading by drawing a lot of lines passing through the rifle and then coloring the gap left between the lines with a base hex color, and then modifying that hex color. And yes, that's a thumbhole grip.

Other than that, there's just some minor proportion issues and the colors don't really match a desert environment that well
