Invasion 1: Alpha

The ID is starwars7-shotgun because this was originally supposed to be just a shotgun map, but I made it a map with multiple guns that starts off a series. Note that all of the enemies are Proxy (Valkyrie Terrorist Group) because I was mad at the character, since the Proxy levels kept me from trying out the BNG I had bought. Basically, this all happens on one of the Crystal Moons, mining and training outposts lightyears away from Earth. The Valkyrie Terrorist Group has invaded the Crystal Moons. The player's character, codenamed CS-Beast, has been teleported in to fight them off using a few weapons in the training course, which includes a shooting range you can use if you go the wrong way.

To really get a full understanding of the backstory, look at the page link. It goes pretty in-depth on what's happening, at least by PB2 standards.

I know this seems like this is some shameless self-beneficial advertising, but can you rate this for me? My singleplayer maps get no rates because nobody has ever heard of them and I can't just start a game in multiplayer because it's a one-person map. So, I'm just going to post the series in this thread as I make it. Just a little heads up, the next one is just a cutscene so you don't have to watch it every time you die. So yeah, thanks if you rate it 5, it means a lot!


Invasion 2: Flying Ducks

Again, this one is a cutscene only, but I did way better than I expected on it. You have no idea how much trial-and-error it took to get gravity correct (I used no movables besides the invisible player cage at start, and the disappearing floor layer so you can go upwards), to get timer delay correct, to get zoom correct, to get special effects correct, to get explosion power correct, to get hex codes correct, to get sound effects correct, and to get the right dialogue for the cutscene.

I think you will actually like it, despite not being able to really do anything. The previous level now continues to Invasion 2, but I provided the page and demo links anyway, for rating. Rate it 5 if you like the special effects, I think you'll agree that the slow motion and its sound effect were a nice touch.


Invasion 3: Drowning in the Desert

This time, I made more of the ship itself, although most of it was pulverized on impact, but you can find pieces of it on the lake bottom (yeah, Crystal Moon Delta is a desert, but it has a lake. Don't ask.), complete with a dead pilot. There are only two enemies, but considering one must be killed with swords and the other with a pistol that is only good for one shot, it's harder than you would think.

Again, rate this map 5 if you want more.


Invasion 4: The Other Group

CS-Beast has been picked up by the warship Reaver with the two villagers from the building. It turns out that the Valkyrie terrorists weren't the only party attacking, but before the villagers can say who this group is, they are killed.

This map is another cutscene, but an important one for plot reasons. Rate 5, and enjoy!


Invasion 5: A Traitor in Our Midst

CS-Beast has been chasing the sniper, and is cut off from the other Civil Security members. The sniper has reached the control room and is using traps to try to kill CS-Beast.

This is probably getting old, but rate it 5!


Invasion 6: Intervention

5 years before the Invasion series, Cs-Beast was on a mission on the planet Terra 5. The mission was to stop a rebellion from escalating on the planet. But, he didn't anticipate the casualties they could inflict. In this map, I finally let you do something in a cutscene, if only firing your gun. And, you get to watch CS-Bloodbath fake his own death by actually being ripped apart by a bomb.

You know the drill with rates.


Invasion 7: Quake (Seizure Warning?)

Back in the "present," CS-Beast is still chasing the killer. The killer tells him that he will not use traps anymore, and he will fight CS-Beast himself. He also says that his CS Special Ops codename was CS-Quake.

I don't know if a vibrating screen can cause a seizure, but if you are seizure-prone, do not play the bossfight in this map. Otherwise, have fun!

This is the last time I will bother saying this, but rate it 5!


Invasion 8: The Briefing

This map is just one of those advance-the-plot maps. It does explain a lot, though. Look at the dialogue, I'm going to tell anyone who says "why did CS-Beast's skin and chat color change?" that, because it is stated in the dialogue that he got promoted.

The next map will be really good, I think, although saying it'll be good is just asking for trouble. But still, this map is going to be a very important one. Note that Invasion 6 was not for no reason, it will be tied to the Sigma Arc that this map starts. And don't worry, the Valkyries will be back in the next map. I wasn't planning on forgetting them.


Invasion 9: Toxic

CS-Beast has gone in alone to infiltrate the base on Crystal Moon Sigma. Sigma is irradiated, and the area around the base is surrounded by troops, sent out to stop CS-Beast from getting in and probably very unhappy about being kicked out into deadly radiation.

This is honestly one of my favorite maps in this series. I really enjoyed making it. So, be sure to play!


Invasion 10: Talking to a Ghost

CS-Beast tells his team to meet up with him at the base, but they are killed. Over the comms, someone whose voice is very familiar to him begins talking. It is Bloodbath, back from the dead.

This is my longest cutscene map yet, it takes over a minute. Paying attention to the dialogue is very critical to understanding the plot, so be sure to read it.


Invasion 11: One Man Army

Bloodbath is in the base on Sigma, and CS-Beast has to kill him. The problem is, Bloodbath has a device that spawns in enemies. So, CS-Beast has to take down multiple enemies, and then get to an elevator that leads to an unknown location.

Invasion 12: One Small Step

CS-Beast is in an elevator leading to an unknown location. During a conversation with the CS base, he loses communication, loses gravity, and gets a view out the windows in the elevator. A view of space.

Invasion 13: Endgame

CS-Beast shuts down the comm jammers, but the control panel was rigged. Now, a missile is going to be launched at the CS base. CS-Beast has to shut down the missile.

This is technically the last map in the series, although the next map is a cutscene epilogue. So, enjoy!

This map just shows CS-Beast's funeral, and has a sequence thanking everyone who helped.
