Ruffle for pb2?

Postby wires memelord » 2 October 2022, 03:32

So due to the death of flash pb2 has become a stand-alone application but recently I found this program called "Ruffle"
Its a flash emulator that actually works pretty well, the only problem is that it doesn't support action scrip 3, yet.

The devs release new versions nightly and the entire project is visible on Github, and at the moment action script 3 is at 60 percent completion.

An example of it can be found here https://kbhgames.com/game/plazma-burst

Any thoughts?

Hello wires memelord,

I have personally tried Ruffle for PB2 and unfortunately PB2 doesn't work as of now. As you have mentioned, Ruffle does not support Actionscript3 (AS3) fully and PB2 is made with AS3.

The alternatives options are to use the PB2 Launcher given at main site or use Maxthon Nitro to play the game on a browser. (Take note Maxthon Nitro is a depreciated browser and will not support modern sites)
Proud to be part of something meaningful.

I am aware of such things, and should probably had mentioned them in the original post, but the dev team are currently working on implementing AS3, I just thought it'd be something to keep an eye out for.

Its already implemented on other websites like Crazy Games and Armour Games.
Meanwhile other flash players require download/installation, and if you give them access to your website data there can be bad apples that actually have malicious intent.
