Eric Gurt has said that he does not feel as though Plazma Burst 2.5/3 could be released in an incomplete, early access type state, seen here.
Spoiler: Show More
He thinks that releasing it as a complete and polished game would be better for the game and its player count (and he could be right, he is the experienced developer here).
Although, the concept of being able to play a game as it develops has seemed to work for a lot of different games out there, and it is possible that this could work for PB2.5/3. But still, most of these games tend to have all kinds of different situations. Some of them have a development team, some of them have (a) developer(s) working full time (due to receiving money from it in some way), some of them have YouTubers and such playing them to grow the community, etc.
PB2.5/3 might not be a game that would fit a formula like this or the details that come with it. But it could also widely benefit from it. But regardless of this, there are still a few options which could help PB2.5/3's development in some way.
Gurt could get an expanded development team, but this would be difficult to set up and probably delay development of PB2.5/3 initially. Gurt could also allow some sort of donation system (like a Patreon), but this might not be enough to do much, and in return could even cause Gurt to feel stressed about the development.
So, I ask you: Should PB2.5/3 be released prematurely and receive its content as updates? Should Eric Gurt get a development team? Should Eric Gurt allow for donations? Would some of these options do more bad than good? Do you have any other ideas on how these could be solve or how to speed up development? Please reply to this and give your thoughts.
