I feel that with this being a CPU-bound title, most browsers such as Opera, Chrome or Internet Explorer limit the maximum amount of CPU that any given tab or thread can use.
Browsers such as Firefox do not yet are not fully optimized for high CPU loads on weak cpu's such as my FX-6300. I feel a downloadable client will better be able to shift some of these workloads to the GPU rather than the CPU if systems do in fact have a Graphics co-processor such as my own GTX 1050 Ti.
I'd expect performance gains just as when another game I used, called Battlestar Galactica Online made the switch to a downloadable client; which boasted a max fps on this computer of about 40 with chrome, 55 on firefox. It is a unity bound title, which I find my pc already performs very well with; and when I grabbed the downloaded version and launched it, I was in the hundreds of frames per second, often hovering between 250 and 400 fps depending on where I looked, where in browsers the FPS did not fluctuate at all
Just a thought and one I would like to see done as browsers tend to put load on the CPU rather than the GPU, and with my weaker CPU most tasks will struggle.
Thanks and have a nice day, Monovaient/Monovalent
