Favourite kind of maps?

Postby darkstar 1 » 10 April 2017, 14:05

Poll:
What are your favourite kind of maps?

(Comments (optional):
If you are a lvl dev., what kind of maps do you like to make the most?
Why do you like these maps/what in thos maps do you like the most?
What would you like to see in your favourite kind of maps that you haven't seen for so far?
When you start a match, what map is it mostly of the time, and with what kind of maps do you think to attrack the most players?)

Why did I make this forum post/topic?: I wanna see what's in these days or what maps the community likes the most :)
(If I forgot any kind of map in the poll, please tell me ;))

Edit: Made changed some things in the poll, split arena maps in two types and added mission- and other maps.
Edit Edit: K, looks like the change resetted the whole poll :/ sorry for that

I kind of like making roleplay maps because everyone can adapt to it. People who can't fight and can fight can play these sorts of maps.

Why do you like these maps/what in those maps do you like the most?
I like the sense of teamwork and friendship that goes on some roleplay maps.

What would you like to see in your favourite kind of maps that you haven't seen for so far?
I would like to see more creativity and uniqueness rather than seeing gunshops, bases and swords matches these days.

On the polls above, I voted three things:
1. Maps based on other games
2. Maps based on films or series
3. Puzzle maps

because they are the maps that are fun and hardest to make. Effort, creativity and uniqueness must be put into them to make it good.

I enjoy maps which alter the typical gameplay experience of PB2 (and possibly bring originality with it). This could be things as minor as gun modifications, or as significant as creating a whole new playing field than the normal one (i.e. making a top down shooter). Or just something with tons of triggers.

These are generally the types of maps I try to make, or at least want to make. Probably the main reasons I like these maps the most is because they push the limits of what you can do in the level editor, showing what you can create with the tools and resources you are given. Also, I haven't seen a whole lot of these maps (and the ones I have seen usually come from the same few level developers), so they are somewhat original.

Mission maps with infiltrating bases and storylines, of course. Would like to see more of them.
