Acid?

Any theories on why there is a lot of acid in some rooms? Could it be a trap from the CS or usurps? Something usurps live from? ...?

Realistically, it's like exploding barrels, it's a cliche game feature that everyone can recognise as dangerous.

Canonically, my theory would be that it's a waste product of something, either Usurpation or CS armour or weapons. Perhaps the energy weapons or armour require a power core that secretes acid as a waste product? That would explain the abundance of bright green acid.

I don't think it's a trap of any kind, it's too easily avoided.

Maybe they put acid there so they could drown themselves in it. Who knows. The aliens could be depressed.
