in this case, its an estimation

this is more of a fact, e.g not an opinion
there's your information

smh hasn't even been a year (let alone past even half a year) and people are already crying about development speed yet these are the same people who wait 2-3 years for something like CoD or battlefield to come out

chill lads

Most people are upset because, well, it has been 5 years since we've seen another game, you would assume a game would have at least come out by now, but instead eric just now started work on it, that could definitely annoy people. But at least he's making it.

its been clear enough already that it's a side project, therefore eric isn't going to put a lot of focus into it and from that, we can't assume that it's eric's highest priority - if anything, it's up there with his other projects but not at a point where he's obligated to work on it

based off that, the slow development speed is entirely justified, hence the major outcry isn't very necessary

if compared to other games, the progress rn and the progress speed in general is perfectly normal

Yeah, I totally agree. As i've stated before - I highly respect him for doing this fresh game, completely free!

If anyone misunderstands -this thread wasn't meant to be harsh at all. I just wanted to see some opinions on the development speed. Since I think it's quite slow.

--- But that's fine considering all the circumstances, even though I'd wish it would be a bit faster.

We've been waiting for ages and I'm quite disappointed with the slow progress, but I'm sure Gurtie's doing his best, and he'll give us something worth the wait.

I guess the nearest release date is Q2 2018.
According to my worst assumptions - Q3 2024.

meh it's as slow as the progress speed in dwarf fortress if not even slower so that probably means hes working on new things, new features for the game

Way too slow. Eric needs to hurry.

Hard to predict estimation date when he always responds that it's 16% done and keeps on adding features (full list of which remains unknown to most of players).

^ Lmao
I don't mind the developing speed. Although I used to play PB2 every day, back when all 3 servers had at least 2k users online during peak time, I've played less and less till I reached the point of not playing it for a year or so until recently.
After seeing the sneak peeks and spoilers of PB2.5 (From Eric's twitter) it definitely looks like it's worth the wait. I'm sure I'd come back to plazma burst even if I'm not active, just to try out PB2.5.

Well, the better the game is, the longer it takes to edit. I mean, I would wait impatiently.

I've been here when multiplayer online counter reached 12 000 online players. PB2's popularity decrease speed was 50% in few first days, but now popularity decrease speed slowly become a 10% per year.

According to popularity graph it will not reach zero unless something significant happens (like PB2.5 release). But I think "it's dying" talk started to happen once users in multiplayer started to be ignored during counting if they've been afk for 1 minute instead of 5. Also such topic for conversation is probably one of ways to show developer that players want next game to be done before it's too late.

Mostly my hopes with PB2.5 are based on the peak popularity PB2 had for few first months. I guess if stuff will be done in proper way - there would be a better start with more audience hold. Even when PB2 had many features added and bugs fixed in later days during PB2's updates - it did no influence on game's popularity (less than 3% of popularity increase which usually disappears in few days).

I don't play PB2's multiplayer too. Mostly because of reasons I hope will disappear with 2.5/3. At least I know how these that are known can be fixed.

Honestly at this point, as long as the game is good and doesn't have the flaws this game did, I'm ok with waiting.

But not too long. If the game takes another year or two, I'm honestly not sure if I can wait that long. I've been here over 3 years and I've already considered leaving countless times.
