That was the past, his gun shop map looked a lot more neat than most of the maps then. We are saying that max's maps looks kinda in between the piece of sh!t concrete,floating water and no background (no insult intended) and modern maps which is considered "old."

It's not bad or anything but it can be called monumental.

Hm. A pretty tough question to answer, as many map makers are much more specialized in certain areas than others are. For instance:
- Doomwrath was pretty good at making dialogues between characters and had excellent grammar.
- Cahir was/is legendary for his traps maps, since he had plenty of unique ideas at his time.
- As many have said already, Max's style is old-fashioned but also has very intricate and complex trigger systems.
- Failureguy and Monkeyman were awesome at making cool stories and gave them a good feel.
- Silent Phoenix had some unique ideas and knew how to make a map look good aesthetic-wise.

But as for a overall-best mapmaker? I just could not answer that one.
