Your PB2 Story:

Postby assasinguy » 28 February 2016, 20:52

Hey guys, I just saw the topic on "do you prefer old pb2 or new pb2" and started thinking ... how do you distinguish between old and new PB2? I thought of every year I've had in PB2 and how it was, and tried to decide, but didn't really figure it out, but meh, that doesn't matter, what matters is thinking back on every year you've spent in PB2 and evaluating it in reply to this topic. It'll be interesting to see how people's experiences differ. Here's how it went for me:

2011: Joined the game, played and chatted a lot, got "trained" in railwars by Lethal Scopez, there was a stupid amount of lag but I thoroughly enjoyed the year.

2012: Got much better at the game, it became less laggy too, I made some great friends and started mapmaking at the end of the year.

2013: Became even better at the game and at mapmaking, made more amazing friends, some bad things happened but it was mostly awesome.

2014: Played PB2 much less so I became worse at it, I spent much more time mapmaking and chatting, so my ldr shot way up, I reached 50.00 and retired at the end of the year after completing my SP series and got onto the staff team in August of 2014, so this was probably my best year in PB2.

2015: Made more amazing friends, I became even worse at playing PB2 and was obviously retired from mapmaking, but enjoyed being on the Staff Team and doing a load of staff-ey things.

2016: So far, it's pretty good I think.

Favourite year would be 2013 or 2014, not sure which one to choose.

2010: My friend told me the sequel to the fun game Plazma Burst - Forward to the Past. Fun fact - I wasn't gonna go to school that day, I was sick. If I hadn't had gone ... my life would've been completely different.

2011: I just played the game a lot. I then got into mapmaking and made my first map and a few saw maps.

2012: My maps were liked by many many people, and I made more. In late 2012 I joined BoZ and I began my YouTube channel from inspiration by Neelfrost, Stryde, and NeRoX's channels.

2013: My YouTube channel slowly gained flight, people liked my videos and it was to the point where I was running into "Fans" in-game.

2014: Normal year. Enjoyed the game, made videos, played. Quit BoZ for the first time. Mostly because they basically stopped playing PB2 and pushed me around. I won't release public details on what they did. I was later convinced to rejoin BoZ because they wanted me back.

2015: Channel just continued to grow big. I also went onto the PB2 chat and forum for the first time early this year. I never even bothered clicking on them for the previous 4, all I did was click "play" on the site. I ignored them, never got involved in any of that stuff. In my mind, it was just a waste of time. Why go to a chat and a forum where people just argue and don't even play the game, right? Yeah, I was so wrong. I then began to discover that the game had a Staff Team. I knew every game had this, but I never saw any of them. I then became interested in what they did in specific. A few months later, Staff started to get some negative feedback. I thought about joining to find out who they were and give them a positive rep. It was on my radar for months, but I never really followed through. I met Spirit9871 in June, who changed my entire freaking life. We talked every single day basically for the whole summer. After the summer, we made the Revivalists. In a talk one night, I told him about my radar for the Staff, he convinced me to join, I quit BoZ again instantly because the same stuff was happening anyway - I made an app and got accepted to Staff. Epic year.

2016: YouTube channel is nearing 1k subs. I'm having an incredible time in Staff and the Revivalists are returning. I've met so many awesome people I can't even express how happy I am to be here. Starting off awesome and there's still a ton more to experience ahead.

PB2 and its community legit changed my ENTIRE life.
I wouldn't be the same person.
I'm proud to be who I am, and love this place.

Well I first played the original pb loved it and later in 2011 I heard there was a second one but I didn't really care for some reason.

First year of pb2 (either 2011 or 2012 I don't remember) after actually deciding to check out pb 2 I played the campaign and thought it was good later becoming a guest for only about an hour before making an actual account.

First account I lost account logging info for and didn't care enough to revive it so I ditched that account. I later made another account called "Xerdo" that hopefully nobody heard of because I cringe at the thought of it's existence.

I was basically a little prick that whole time I had that account. I remember one time in particular on that account where I called Alica a "phat pigeon" (Sorry Alica) before they were a moderator just thought it was worth mentioning because of how stupid I was back then and it's kinda funny looking back at it. At this time it was maybe 2013 or early 2014 but I cringe looking at my pb2 history those years.

I soon that year thought it might be a good idea to try and start a clan later being shamed and being the little twat I made a post about how I was "Never coming back" and went afk, but look at me now! I lied. I later came back using a new alias by the name of "Alpha 7" that I'm pretty fond of considering I was pretty chill when using that account during either late 2014 or early 2015 those were the chill days as I remember them, After those days I went afk....

Either 4 or 5 days ago I came back as Alpha 7 and tried to 2007 style rickroll the chat, that idea failed. I then got bored or something and made this account Turtothian and is the current account I use.

Well that was my pb 2 story.

2011: Lurked on the site and played campaign. Made an account near the end of the year.

2012: Did squeaker stuff, I was a squeaker at the time. 12 years old.

2013: Grew some balls and got a tiny bit more mature. Started feeling a small sense of despair.

2014: I got more mature again and made maps and stuff. Started realizing that this game is probably ruining my life. Shitty community, acidic people.

2015: Same shit. Started lurking more than contributing. Realized that there is no escape and gave up the struggle.

2016: Most of the time I now just lurk and post occasionally. Without PB2 I'd probably be on the street with two in my chest and one in my head and a bag of cocaine in my pocket. PB2 stopped me from being a gansturr and made me a robot. :^)

Without PB2 my life would be much worse, probably. Instead of being a whiteboy Norteño dead on the streets, I am now a robot (4chink term you normies) with little to no sense of morals that does not cringe at seeing a person cut in half by a train. I may or may not have multiple gore gifs, webms, and images on my HDD.
Like Minecraft?

Well join Apocalypse.red! It's a fantastic, small server. It's quite inactive but that's why we need you!

2011: Surprisingly one of my first memories of ever being on the internet.

2012: Took refuge here from depression, met new friends.

2013: Met life changing friends like Invincitron, iPoison, Epic Knight, etc.

2014: Finally realized how cancerous this place is, moved on with a bunch of no lifers into the meme realm.

2015: Lurking in the shadows like a Pakistani in a christian school, rarely came on only to screw with mods and people.

2016: Began to socialize, started having a life, but never got bored of the memes.

Verdict: Good for 12 year olds, not at all enjoyable afterwards, cancerous moderation, too strict rules, and a lack of dank memes.

10/10

Wow, it's interesting to see how everybody's story varies. One thing which I see a lot of though, is people coming back even after they had left ... this place does that to people, it seems like they can't leave, and I wouldn't say that's a bad thing. It's pretty remarkable.
