no approved maps transfer...really?

Postby Star Fox McCloud » 23 November 2015, 23:58

So Eric said that it will depend on map makers decision to have their maps approved in pb2.5 (only if approved in pb2). hm, so alot of inactive ol map makers cant do anything about it. [Inactive for 60+ days or forever] We will miss the old maps lol, even cahirs

Exactly. We wont have a lot of approved maps to play on and It seems a lot of people really enjoy ranked like I do. We will so much approved maps that maybe not very many people will play ranked. Maybe you should just transfer them anyways without telling them to.

I think all approved PB2 maps should not be considered at all for PB2.5 approval - fresh game, fresh start. Even within PB2, the approved map pool can be trashy, with old 2011 maps filled with glitches and poor design (compared to current map quality).

It would encourage people to only play old stale maps (sniper, railwars, etc) rather than trying out any new maps.

I would sooner personally make 50 approved maps for PB2.5 (with no LDR/credit) than see PB2.5's pool and MP community wasted on stale old maps.

PB2 maps should be relegated to custom matches only.

Hm, well ok then. But I just hope all pb2 maps will go to custom maps. "decision on map maker to put a map in 2.5 is not so good." I prefer your idea doom lol

If Pb2.5 comes out, then yeah ^_^. I personally think that maps should not be transferred as Doom said. New Fresh start, new game.

I think it is best not to transfer any of approved maps in PB2, nor any maps. A new fresh start is the best to go, but I bet all of Eric's maps will still be there, talking about dm0, railwars maps, etc.

Bro, I told you via skype.
Let's just leave the past behind, those maps can be revisited in Pb2.5 and improved as well, there's no need to have the same maps for a new game.

I totally agree with doom, we should work on improving the future instead of crying and missing the good old past.

^ That, we don't need to rely on old maps to fulfill our needs for PB2.5

Doom said it himself,I personally wouldn't mind messing around with the level editor as soon as it comes out

I'd rather not see maps like fightforthebase return in PB2.5, tbh. I think a fresh start is a good idea.
who needs a PB2.5 release date, anyways?

Yeah, he did. Might be nice to see some old maps with some of the new ones, I guess. As long as the old maps don't get really popular.

just thought of something else lol. pb2 will be completely dead after 2.5 comes. so whats the point of approving maps now since they wont be in 2.5?

i myself think that map developers should have the option to transfer their maps over to PB2.5. However, if the maps are approved, then they shouldn't be approved by default in PB2.5 unless they pass some sort of map approval system like any other map would

to summarize, pb2 approved maps shouldnt automatically be pb2.5 approved maps

Maybe the Staff could find a Way to work around that by not asking them.
