Change the team chat button.

Okay, I've gotten killed like 1 or 2 times recently, and had a LOT of inconvenience because of the team chat button. It causes a ton of anxiety to worry about it. It's right next to the 5 and 6 keys, so if you're trying to change guns, you end up in a chat box and your controls stop working while it thinks you're trying to type a message. It's REALLY annoying.

I'll try to throw grenades while simoltaniously gun mixing, and I'll accidentally hit the team chat button and type "57q57qgg5757ggq" or something instead. Why not have team chat be first you hit enter, then you type /team or /t?

Anyone else had problems with this sort of thing?

Unfortunately not me. I doubt that by changing the button for the team chat. It is fine

It happens to me too, I find it annoying. I like your idea of pressing enter then do /team

U would be a better Key IMO since it's very far from the other Keys used for playing the Game.

The Reason for changing it doesn't appeal to me, though. Instant Gun changing is a bit unrealistic, since it doesn't just teleport into one's Hands.

Its a futuristic game, if you can teleport, so can guns.

When you press '6' for defib, sometimes you miss and hit 't' which activiates the team chat.

I was surprised to see an actually reasonable proposal from a Varoid topic.
I agree that it should be changed; can't even say how many times I've smashed the T key while trying to use the defib or throw a nade. But instead of forcing people to choose a new one, how about we go one step further and allow people to choose their own keykindings for every action in the game? Leave the defaults as they are, but let people change them if they want.

This doesn't really make sense because the teleportation from portnades has an actual effect associated with it, whereas the gun switching is just a gun magically appearing in your hands.

There is already an implementation like this, hitting enter and putting "-team" and saying your message puts it in team chat. Although the 6/t 5/t button combo is confusing for me, I stick to the scroll wheel!

Syringe is totally right. Like other games, our controls should e customizable to fit our fingers comfortably.

While I agree, the Default should still be changed for convenience (although I hate the "Gun-mixing" Reason for its lack of Realism and Potential for Abuse).

It would be funny if somebody managed to get one his/her Friend's Computer while he/she is still logged in and change the Controls to something unreasonable (like E for Jump, H for Right, M for Left, I to Crouch and 1 for Ragdoll Mode, for example). Maybe the Numbers should remain uncustomisable.
